I had the incredible opportunity to create a series of advocacy videos in collaboration with Stepping Stone, a local shelter, to support funding for renovations.
I developed interview questions, filmed residents and staff, and edited each piece to centre dignity and real experience.

[Mikaela] did such a wonderful job at capturing the essence of who we are at Stepping Stone, helping to uplift people and show their strength and tell their stories from a powerful place rather than going for the pity or sadness or that feeling of exploitation."

Galliott Studios, a pottery café in the quiet outport town of Woody Point, Newfoundland. Opened by Jen, who turned her grandfather's fishing shed into a cozy community space, the café-studio combo sits right on the edge of the Atlantic, nestled between the ocean and Gros Morne National Park.
In this video, Jen shared the shed's meaningful history with me, and explained how she connects her creations to the region's rich cultural heritage by using local mud to craft her pottery. After showing us her pottery process, we watched some local fishermen use her dock to catch sculpins and other fish while jellyfish floated by.

Owned and operated by Jodi, the shop offers an inside look into the delicate art of taxidermy, and the big impact these little insects have on our local ecosystems.
